28 week update
August 19, 2008
This week the baby is about the size of a cabbage. He is almost 15 inches long and is starting to develop more fat. He also has eyelashes and can open his eyes, so he can start recognizing light from inside my tummy. In our childbirth class we heard that we can play a fun little game of shining a flashlight at my belly and see if he reacts to the light with a kick or a punch.
Also, at my appointment yesterday my doctor showed me how to feel for his head. Although I was a little apprehensive about squeezing on his little noggin, it was pretty fun to feel where he was. Currently he is positioned head down – just how we want him to be. However he still has a bunch of room for acrobatics, so we’ll just keep our fingers crossed that he stays that way and isn’t too inspired by all the gymnastics we’ve been watching lately.
Other than the sore throat that my husband so kindly passed on to me, I’ve been feeling great. My back pain hasn’t been to bad and I still have my 2nd trimester energy level. I’m also very excited for my upcoming shower this weekend given by Tim’s side of the family. It will be at a cute little winery near my sister-in-law’s house, and I can’t wait.
